Buddha Statue bronce partly gold plated with color painted head 36 cm height

Padmasambhava (padma - lotus born) is known as Guru Rinpoche he was famous about his knowledge about tantras and of their efficacious application. He was a renown and highly learned tantric saint in Northern India. In te middle of the eight cencury the tibetan king Thi-Stron Detsan sent to India inviting the learned guru to come to Tibet . He remained 50 years in Tibet. He despited as seated on a lotus blossom wearing royal robes. His right foot rests on a small on a small blossom. His body is flesh-coloured but his expressions are varied. He wears a magical folded red hat and is always shown with moustache. He holds a vajra in his right hand , in his left hand he holds a scull cup with a vase of immortality (ambrosia). He carries a tantric staff (khatvanga) surmounted with trident in the fold of his left arm. Padmasambhava was married to princess Mandarova and to Yeshe. He is the writter of Bardo Thödol (" Tibetan book of death"). His Mantra is OM A HUM VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HUM.
