Bhaisajya Thathagata - Medicine Buddha wears monasteric robes and sits on a lion throne.

He holds a bowl in the left hand having medicinal plant called arura or amla (phyllanthus emblia) and he holds a stem of arura in his right hand in Varada-Mudra (gesture of giving). His assistents are the two Bhodisattvas called Suryapralha und Candraprabha.

Before he got enlightment he did 12 vows, the important was to keep away all the diseases from all human beings and to make them happy on their way to enlightment and to free them from all troubles.
